Aquarius

 Aquarius

As we lay and watched the star

Listening to her voice

Its inflating beauty and strength

Began to fuel our souls with wonder and excitement

For it was time

To explore

~~

She could take you

Anywhere your heart desired

Without means of money

Or authority

Solely equipped with the mind and body’s

Most mighty and exotic tool

The imagination

~~~
We soaked in every word
Like dry sponges on the edge of a bath
For there was much that she could offer us
Much for us to learn
And we were drip fed these adventures
Every Saturday night
Like rations
We needed them
And they needed us
To full-fill their purpose and to come alive
~
For they were no ordinary fairy tales
Plucked from a dog eared softened book
Nor were they available for reading at all
There was only one
Person who could create these quests
Exclusive through one
Ever-lasting story that would keep us
Hooked until
Life’s curiosities changed in size and shape
And we forgot what was wonderful
About living
And remembered what was stressful
About growing up.
~~~~

The story was fashioned in the mind’s eye

Of the world’s most wonderful

Woman

Who devoted her life

To her loved ones

To make them happy

And to feel loved

Always

She

My favourite

Nanny.

~~~
Snuggle up tight with me you three
You’ll need your warmth
Where ever we may be
For now’s the time to find the star
In the dark night’s sky so very far
Away from here it glows just faintly
Spot the one that flickers quaintly
And watch it grow
As it comes near
The window sill where we won’t fear
As it shall land upon the grass
Without a sound for its great mass
And we will rise and go to see
The star that soon will let us flee
To lands afar of our own choice
When we hear her little voice
A door will open small yet tough
For it is surely safe enough
To enter hand in hand and face
The delicate soul with a cheerful grace
Who’s nature’s kind and quite gregarious
Our precious friend
The great
Aquarius
~~
Whilst peering through the gauzy walls
Of her great star that only falls
To take us travelling across the sky
To places in our own mind’s eye
Adventures only we will know
She asks:
“Where would you like to go?”
